Welcome to Pembroke Primary School
My name is Megan Ganter and I am the principal of Pembroke Primary School. We pride ourselves on our friendly community atmosphere and nurturing learning environment.
In 2017, we completed a 2.2 million dollar upgrade to our school and have beautiful new classrooms, STEM room and Library.
Our committed staff work together to enable each student to reach their potential as learners. We employ research-based teaching methods with a focus on developing high levels of English and Mathematics skills. We also offer a range of specialised programs including The Arts, Auslan, Physical Education and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) as well as activities such as Library, choir, Student Representative Council, camping program, interschool and representative sports, and a school production each year.
We encourage students to be respectful, responsible and trustworthy and we develop and promote these behaviours through the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support approach. We want all of our students to feel safe and happy at school.
If you are interested in enrolling, I encourage you to contact the school office to book in a tour.
Following advice from the Victorian Government on Tuesday 12 May, some students will be returning to school from Tuesday 26 May.
The Victorian Chief Health Officer has advised that it is safe for Victorian school students and teachers to return to on-site schooling in a two-staged approach:
* Stage 1 – from Tuesday 26 May
Early years students (Prep to Grade 2) and senior secondary students (Year 11 and 12) undertaking the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL), and all specialist school students will return to on-site schooling. All staff will attend on-site.
* Stage 2 - from Tuesday 9 June
Grade 3 to Year 10 students will return to on-site schooling, subject to health advice. The Department’s latest advice on can be found at
Drop off and Pick up procedure
Parents and guardians are to remain in their cars for drop off and pick up, to avoid too many adults gathering. A drop off and pick up zone will be marked out the front of the school on Pembroke Road. It will operate just like the one at the airport. If parents do need to come on to school grounds for whatever reason, please phone the office to make an appointment first. If longer term parking is required, please park outside our designated drop off and pick up zone.

The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.
